As Burt Bacharach said "A house is just a house..."

As I start out on my new blogging hobby I've had a bit a reprieve. I mentioned in my first entry that we were fitting out our new home/office. Well over the last few weeks this has been an all consuming task but I've been working on a tv commercial this week and have had a little house building break.My one true love however has still been hard at it.

To be honest if I had known how stressful this project was going to be on us as individuals and as a couple I might well have not signed the contract. Luckily I was completely in the dark and thought that it would be an exciting project if not a little challenging. I'm a producer so I'm good with budgets, timelines, teamwork but nothing prepared me for this.

For a start there are a MILLION decisions to be made. At least a million, maybe more. But not only that, you can't make them unilaterally - you both have to agree. Well I can certainly say that we haven't agreed on everything but both of us have made compromises and we are surely more than half way through the decision making part of the process. (Well I'm hoping that we are more than halfway.)

Luckily for us though I think that the process is bringing us closer together. Still I may never, ever build a house again with him or anyone else!
